When we get busy, we get busy! As promised in our January post, we have released an important update to MyCash (version w6.12.25). Highlights include: configurable online version checking, a totally redesigned customized ‘Message Box’ notification window system, code stability improvements for use with Windows 7, an all-new state-of-the-art installation setup procedure, and more. If you are a currently licensed user of any w6.12.xx version of MyCash, this upgrade is free! Even if you have an older version of MyCash, however, you can upgrade for only $10! Still the best deal in town, folks! Visit the MyCash page to download and install this best-ever release!
April 17, 2010
As noted in our January post, we have just released an interim upgrade of 911CAD (version w8.21.19) that gives the 911CAD Administrator the option of displaying the Incident Board window as either a resizable form or as a ‘Full-screen Only’ form. This has been a common request with some agency administrators in the past, and it’s now available as a free upgrade to anyone currently licensed to use at least version w8.21.xx of this software! Look for a major upgrade to be released in a couple of months that will consolidate and integrate the Incident Board and Unit Board into a single unified display!
Also, we’ve just released a significant upgrade of MyLife (now available as a *Pro* version: w3.26.11), our premiere reminder/scheduler/organizer software! Many significant additions and improvements have been applied to its feature-rich set of functions, making it easier than ever for you to keep track of all of the endless details of your life. For previously licensed users, the upgrade is only $5! How can you beat that??? For new users, a license is an atrociously expensive $15. What can we say? We’re gold-diggers!
Finally, we’ve also released a minor upgrade of Evidence with several important feature improvements, including version update checking, improved code stability running under Windows 7, and more. This update is free for any currently licensed user of at least version w8.12.xx of this software! If you are using an earlier version than that, significant discounts of up to 70% are available, so now is a very good time to upgrade!

The past year went by so fast I had to check my watch! Poor joke, but genuine sentiment. 2009 was our best year ever-- the MyCash upgrade proved to be a major hit! And 911CAD continues to be a huge success in the law enforcement community, as well as public sector organizations such as theme parks, shopping centers, hospitals, casinos, and other such organizations that have a public-safety/security component.
Coming up this year? Even more improvements with MyCash based on feedback we’ve received so far. This is becoming a very mature and useful software application for anyone that has personal checking, savings, and credit card accounts.
But the really big news? Thanks to the emergence of widescreen monitors and higher default videos resolutions becoming commonplace, we can consider form designs that were previously impossible to consider less than a year ago! So we are developing a major upgrade of 911CAD that, for the first time since its original release back in 1993, is going to consolidate and integrate the Incident Board and Unit Board into a concurrent side-by-side display, each updating the other in real time!
Expect the big release later this Summer, but look for an interim release that will provide a choice of a full-screen display option around Spring. As always, we look forward to enjoying our partnership with our customers as the years fly by!
August 12, 2009
Spring? Summer? Is it me, or is 2009 galloping out of control down the stretch??? Two and a half years after we released our ambitious e911Pro - Premium VersionPolice Call-Taking and Radio Dispatching software in latter 2006, we undertook an even more ambitious bid to create a major upgrade of this amazing piece of software.
Well, the effort took longer than we anticipated, but it paid off in a big way with 911CAD - Pro Version. There’s no point in taking up a lot of space here trying to list all the additional features, improvements, and enhancements that make this the most complex, yet sophisticated piece of software we’ve ever offered. Suffice it to say that it incorporates all of the Pro Version standards we’ve developed over the past two years within an elegant interactive network-aware paradigm of cooperative usability that will knock your socks off! Just go to the 911CAD web page and read all about it there. I’m worrying that if I blink too slowly, I’ll hear Santa coming down the chimney shortly!
January 7, 2009
Did anyone see 2008 as it zoomed by us? Well, this is the first week of 2009, and we want you to know we’re still here with a bang by starting off the new year announcing a major upgrade release: MyCash - Pro Version!
That’s right-- our first non-law enforcement program to be offered in a Pro Version format, and with new features that everyone will appreciate. Such as accounts that are access protected-- or not-- you decide. No limit in the number of accounts, or number of transactions within a given account. Fully illustrated color manual in PDF format, yet accessible from within the MyCash software itself. There’s so much more, but this is not the forum to try to cram in all the new and improved features and options in this Pro Version, so visit the MyCash web page for more detailed information and a chance to make your financial management a whole lot easier!
September 22, 2008
The time and effort we put into the Evidence - Pro Version software upgrade is paying off-- RAD Software has just released its second Pro Version software application CopWrite - Pro Version. This upgraded police report writing software has all of the updated features, particularly those emphasizing data security and user activity logging, that will typify all of our upcoming Pro Version conversions. The turnaround time now for these conversions is and will continue to be significantly less, thanks to the implementation of modularized coding.
So download your free full-featured evaluation version from the CopWrite web page and find out why our best-selling police report writing software is now even better than ever!
August 12, 2008
After many months of hard work, we are extremely proud and happy to announce the first of several Pro Version software applications that are to be released during the remainder of 2008.
Evidence - Pro Version has finally been approved for imminent release. There are so many improvements, refinements, additional features, and enhanced functions that it would take just too much column space for one announcement to list here. You really owe it to yourself, especially if you are a currently licensed user of a previous version of this software, to visit the Evidence web page for a comprehensive overview of what the Pro Versionlevel of performance is all about. We’re confident you’ll be impressed!
We spent a lot of time developing, and then rigorously testing, new methods of software implementation, user interface enhancements, and data integrity/security features. We undertook a lot of effort to modularize these newly developed software services for transparent portability across applications. The reason for the unusually strict testing and validation procedures is that we plan to implement all of these improvements and additional features into all of our upcoming law enforcement software updates so that they meet and reflect the Pro Version standards we promise to offer to our customers.
So be sure to visit the Evidence web page, and don’t forget that a fully-featured version can be downloaded anytime, and at no cost, for your review and evaluation.
April 27, 2008
RAD Software has just released a significant upgrade of MyLife, our premiere reminder/scheduler/organizer software! Many small improvements have been made, and some not-so-small! For instance, MyLife can now associate any mp3, wma, or wav audio file of any length to any reminder message!
Previously licensed users can send an automated one-click email to us from within the program itself for an upgrade price of only $5! (how can you beat that for convenience and cost?)
The MyLife Journal and MyLife Notes text areas can each now hold any amount of text-- literally the equivalent of hundreds of pages of text if you’re so inclined!
There are also many ‘behind the scenes’ improvements that make MyLife more stable and dependable than ever before, even if you run it under the troublesome Windows Vista operating system. So buy or upgrade as soon as possible, and let MyLife keep your lifeon track and on time!
December 26, 2007

Do you have Windows Vista? First, our sympathy-- in its first release, there are serious problems with this operating system in many areas. Hopefully, Microsoft will be working on these issues expeditiously.
How does the affect your partnership with RAD Software? Vista, in its infinite AI wisdom, will often not let you successfully install many software programs (including ours), even if you are logged on as an administrator. Why? Because it’s default restrictive permission settings won’t let you.
The solution is easy, but not intuitive: After you download one of our installation files, find the installation file on your computer and right-click it, opening a menu of options. Select ‘Open as Administrator’ and the installation will smoothly proceed without problems.
Why should you have to tell Vista to ‘Open as Administrator’ when you’re already logged in as an administrator? Go figure. You’ll have to ask Microsoft.

First, our apologies for being absent from this column for so long. RAD Software has been incredibly busy these past few months expanding our offices and getting ready for a banner year!
Did we say banner year? Absolutely! In 2007, RAD Software celebrates its 20th year as a premium software provider! We hope and expect that this year will be the best ever for us and our customers!
Just to give you a hint of what’s coming: Many of our Pemium Version law enforcement software applications will be enhanced. e911Pro will probably be broken out into 2- or 3-tier option package so that our customers will have more options in deciding what’s their best package at the best price! We are preparing for Windows’ Vista, making sure that our software will integrate seamlessly into their new operating system (it will). We will also look at enhancing and improving our user interface with features that will fit right in with Windows’ Vista, such a form transparency, the appearance of interface controls such as buttons, and so on.
So join us and hang on for a great ride as we make our way through the upcoming year!
July 21, 2006
Finally! The Premium Version of e911Pro has been completed and released for public availability! And what a jump in overall quality and features!
With this release, RAD Software has now completed its project of converting all of our law enforcement software applications to Premium Version editions. It’s been a busy seven months, but we know that our loyal existing customers (and our potential new customers) will find this effort extremely worthwhile!
The e911Pro web page has all the details, and you really should check it out! With this latest release, we can promise more efficient call-taking and radio dispatching, more effective police response and on-scene presence, and a safer community.

RAD Software has just released a major update of MyLife!
This multifunction organizer is more useful and practical than ever in keeping your life on track, on time, and out of trouble! In addition to being a reminder, an alarm, a scheduler, etc., MyLife now also provides a ‘Journal’ capability, and a free-form ‘Notes’ text area to manage all the little scraps of information you currently keep on pieces of paper in your wallet, post-it notes on your monitor, and so on. Both of these new features are searchable and printable, of course!
Also, the Add a Reminder window has been completely revised and streamlined to be more intuitive and easier than ever to use!
And (one of the most popular requests for improvement), MyLife now has a convenient one-click backup or restore function that let’s you archive all of your important MyLife data to any backup media you wish to use!
In addition to the new features mentioned above, nearly every aspect of MyLife has been improved in terms of some combination of design, display, function, and/or efficiency. Yet, amazingly after all these years, MyLife is still only $15 for new users, or just $5 if you are a current MyLife user who wants to get the latest upgrade! At these prices, how can you go wrong?
Here at RAD Software, these improvements and great prices are simply another way that we can say Thank you! for your continued participation and support of our software!

If you’ve been visiting this news area regularly, then you know that we’ve been extremely busy during the first part of this year converting our public safety and commercially oriented software to Premium Versions.
Now, we have only one software package left to upgrade to a Premium Version-- our flagship program, e911Pro!
We saved the best for last for a reason: We wanted e911Pro to benefit from all that we learned as we converted all the other software to Premium Versions.
And last week, with the advantage of the experience we gained, we started work on the Premium Version of e911Pro. We expect to take at least six weeks to develop this upgrade to the point of beta testing with a few selected agencies, after which it will be released for public availability.
While we are still coming up with new and improved features, functions, and options as we work on it, we can tell you this about the upgrade thus far:
* As with the Premium Versions of our other software, e911Pro will have a ‘Sign-In’ Window that appears immediately after the Title Window. This window consists of a ‘User List’ of people who are authorized to enter and use the e911Pro software. Only a designated e911Pro administrator will have the authority to add, edit, and delete e911Pro users. Once a user is listed in the authorized ‘Users List’, he must select his name and provide the correct password to enter and use e911Pro.
Further, each user will be assigned by the e911Pro administrator with an access level that controls what the user can and can not do in the program. The three levels of access will be Read-Only Access, Dispatcher Access, and Full Access.
* One of the most asked for changes in e911Pro is to increase the amount of text a dispatcher could enter in the Notes section of a Call Card. The Premium Version of e911Pro will double the amount of available text space for Call Card notes!
* There will be a ‘One-click Backup and Restore’ feature that greatly simplifies and automates bullet-proof backup and restore capabilities of all the data records created by e911Pro. No more guessing which files need to be archived-- the whole process will be automated for your convenience and peace of mind.
These are big and important changes, and there will be many more before we are finished with this upgrade! As we get closer to releasing a publicly available version, we’ll keep everyone posted both here and in an upcoming Summer quarter newsletter. Stay tuned!
PS- If you have any suggestions or ideas about the upcoming Premium Version of e911Pro, now is the time to email us!

This past month went by very fast! And we, as usual, have been very busy as well!
MathTrac has already received a significant makeover based on excellent initial feedback and suggestions. The algorithm that devises division questions has been significantly improved. Also, MathTrac now has an extra tab dedicated to program options which include various sound effects that will please the children! These improvements, along with several other tweaks and minor display changes, make MathTrac more practical and appealing than ever!
Along other lines, the ‘form-fade’ effect that has been integrated into all RAD Software applications has received a very positive response, but there have been interesting issues as well. You see, this effect will not function for those who have Windows 95, 98, or Me, because those operating systems do not support opacity/transparency attributes. But those who have Windows XP can enjoy the effect. Thing is, if you have Windows XP, but you also have minimal graphics capability, the effect can sometimes run at an unacceptably slow pace.
So, in all of the RAD Software applications, we have made the form-fade effect inactive for those who have Windows 95, 98, and Me, and optional for those who have Windows XP, but have minimal graphics capabilities. This way, everyone has the best choice available to them.
Our apologies to those few who had issues with slow transitions, and our thanks to everyone whose support and feedback make it possible for us to respond quickly and effectively for our customers’ needs!
March 26, 2006
It’s always a big event here at RAD Software when we develop a completely new software package, so we are very happy to announce the release of a new educational program: MathTrac, Math Testing and Performance Tracking!
This software is designed for parents (and teachers) with school-age children learning their basic math tables (whole-number addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
* First, MathTrac instantly assembles ‘basic math’ tests for your children to take on-screen (there’s also a printout option as well).
* MathTrac then automatically grades and summarizes the on-screen test results, and posts documented tests to your child’s performance history.
* Most importantly, MathTrac provides you with clear, informative lists and graphs based on your child’s performance history that helps you see what areas your child need focus on with more tests and practice.
Visit the MathTrac page for more information if you want to make a huge positive impact on your child’s essential math skills!

This past month has been very busy (as usual, it seems) for RAD Software! The form-fade coding that was implemented in the personal-oriented software was experimentally integrated into the Premium Version of CopMan. The response was immediate, and was as positive, if not more so, as with the other software releases using form-fade displays. So we’ve spent this past month incorporating this display feature into every one of our software programs!
Normally, we tend to focus on the more practical and pragmatic aspects of software functionality, but we have to admit that these visual improvements (and other display enhancements such a textured backgrounds, etc.) do add a ‘warm touch’ that users enjoy. A few wrote to say they preferred the ‘old look’, but I also remember that my grandfather hated the transition from black & white TV to color TV because it was “...just too much darn color-- hurts my eyes!” When I reminded him that he spent his entire life looking at the ‘real world’ in full color, he said, “That’s different! The real world is supposed to be in color, and TVs are supposed to be in black and white!” To this day, I still miss him.
Considering the dramatic visual and 3-D improvements in the upcoming Windows Vista® operating system release, we think we’re right on track with an educated and informed group of computer users.
So watch out, Grandpaw! Form fades, use of color, textures, 3-D effects, and more are coming, and RAD Software will be there, too!
February 15, 2006
If you recall, on January 2, 2006, RAD Software News posted an announcement (see below) promising to upgrade all of our public safety and commercial-oriented software to Premium Versions as soon as possible. Since then, as our news updates indicate, we’ve been working very hard to complete that New Year’s resolution.
So as you can imagine, we are very happy to say that the last software package on the Premium Version upgrade list-- CopMan-- has just received a major overhaul and has been released for public availability!
Now with all the features and enhancements of its commercial counterpart (MyPeople), CopMan is a major release that we are proud to provide to the public! As with the other Premium Version software released recently, CopMan also has those features that are promised in all Premium Version software releases that have been released this year.
Further, CopMan also has many enhancements and additional features over the non-premium version, such as:
CopMan can now maintain an unlimited number of records
Code efficiencies result in grid displays that generate more than a magnitude faster
CopMan now lets you include a photo of your employee
CopMan tracks not only tracks both current and previous employees, it also tracks sworn and non-sworn employees. Any combination of these two categories can be displayed instantly and easily.
Additionally, we’ve incorporated the ‘Form fade in/out’ features mentioned in our February 13, 2006 RAD Software News posting (see below) into CopMan as a test project to see if the form transition effects appear to be professionally appropriate for this type of software, and our initial impressions are very positive so far (in other words-- it looks good!).
If you are an existing CopMan customer, rest assured that your existing CopMan database file will be instantly available for use by this new release without conversion!
Please note that the non-Premium version of CopMan is no longer available, but RAD Software will continue to support it and honor sales from third-party sites for a limited period of time
February 13, 2006
If you look over the RAD Software News postings made below since the beginning of 2006, you would think that RAD Software has been extremely busy churning out the Premium Versions of our public safety and commerically-oriented software-- and believe me: we have been!
However...
It seems that the owner was playing around with a PowerPoint presentation and noticed how fade ins and fade outs from one ‘slide’ to another made a huge difference in how ‘professional’ the presentation appeared to the viewer. His asked himself: Why don’t software forms fade from one to another like that? Then, being the incredibly gifted software developer that he is (I’m looking for a raise here), he did some research and developed source code that would implement these transition effects efficiently and effectively in a software program.
Being the slave driver that he is (just [half-]kidding-- there goes my raise...), he announced, “Let’s code fade ins and fade outs on every form in our personal use-oriented software! Let’s do it now!”
So, since we didn’t have anything else to do, we’ve just completed adding transition effects to every form in MyCash, MyLife, InTouch, MyRide, and MyBooks! All of these upgrades have been posted and are available on our web site now.
I have to admit, it really does make a big difference. If you use the older Windows 95, 98, or Me, you won’t see the effects, as those operating systems weren’t designed to implement transparency/opacity effects via code. But if you use the newer versions of Windows, I think you will be impressed.
The really nice thing about these upgrades is that they are free if you already own any of these software programs and your current version is relatively recent. If you are not sure, email us with your current software title and version number, and we’ll let you know if your upgrade is free. And if it’s not, we will give you a discount as an incentive to grab the latest version!
February 10, 2006
We’re running out of cute intros! Once again, RAD Software is pleased to announce that the Premium Version of MyPeople has just been completed and released for public availability!
As with the other Premium Version software released recently, MyPeople also has those features that are promised in all Premium Version software releases that are due out this year.
Further, MyPeople also has many enhancements and additional features over the non-premium version, such as:
MyPeople can now maintain an unlimited number of records
Code efficiencies result in grid displays that generate more than a magnitude faster
The narrative text field in each entry has been significantly expanded
If you are an existing MyPeople customer, rest assured that your existing MyPeople database file will be instantly available for use by this new release without conversion!
Please note that the non-premium version of MyPeople is no longer available, but RAD Software will continue to support it and honor sales from third-party sites for a limited period of time

...Rolling on the River...
What can we say? RAD Software is pleased yet again to announce that the Premium Version of CopGun has just been completed and released for public availability!
As with the other Premium Version software released recently, CopGun also has those features that are promised in all Premium Version software releases that are due out this year.
Further, CopGun also has significant enhancements and additional features over the non-premium version, such as:
CopGun can now maintain an unlimited number of records
CopGun can track both ‘Active’ and ‘Inactive’ persons, with the user option of displaying either or both. This allows you to keep records of previous employees, for instance, but not see them unless you need to work with them for any reason.
The narrative text field in each entry has been significantly expanded
If you are an existing CopGun customer, rest assured that your existing CopGun database file can be used by this new release without any modification necessary.
Please note that the non-premium version of CopGun is no longer available, but RAD Software will continue to support it and honor sales from third-party sites for a limited period of time
January 28, 2006

January 2, 2006
What a way to start the new year! RAD Software has two very important announcements to make: Another new software release, and an outline of exciting plans for 2006!
On the heels of the release of CopTrain and New Years Day comes yet another new software release! With a focus on the recordkeeping needs of businesses and other ‘non-law enforcement’ organizations, RAD Software has released a commercial version, TrainMan, to provide training records management software for your business!
With all of the features of CopTrain (see the December 20, 2005 announcement below), TrainMan provides the functions you need to effectively maintain records of all training activities in your organization. Click on this TrainMan link to review a more detailed summary, and you will quickly realize that this is software you will want for your business!
2006: What’s coming up...
In 2005, RAD Software saw its best year yet in many ways: overall sales, software improvements and new releases, and most importantly, clearly increased expectations-- especially from our public safety agencies and other business customers. So for 2006, RAD Software’s mission is to answer the call for a ‘higher level’ of software applications.
Both CopTrain and TrainMan are the start of Premium Version software applications that will provide public safety and business customers with software that significantly raises the bar on important issues such as user access, data security issues, sophisticated search/analysis functions, data mining capability, printing and report generation, built-in data backup/restore functionality, and other similar features that our customers have been asking for.
Starting immediately, RAD Software will begin converting all of its existing public safety and business software to Premium Version editions, with all of the above listed features and much more! First on our list is our ever-popular Evidence software. Be on the lookout for its Premium Version release soon!
December 20, 2005
Big news!!! RAD Software is celebrating the end of a great year by releasing a brand new software program!
CopTrain is training records management software designed specifically for the critical needs of the training component in the Law Enforcement field. RAD Software has developed a powerful software package that fulfills these needs with a sophisticated, yet easy-to-learn and use application that contains all the functions and features your agency needs to maintain computerized records of all training courses provided to your employees.
This software application has so many special features and functions that you owe it to yourself to click on this CopTrain link and review the summary describing this software in far more detail. Suffice it to say that, if you understand how important it can be for a law enforcement agency to maintain complete and accurate training records, then you’ll immediately appreciate the value of having and using CopTrain in your organization!

As 2005 comes around the final turn toward its finish line, we at RAD Software are very happy to look back on a great year, and eagerly anticipate an even better future!
More than ever, RAD Software solicits and listens carefully to its customers for ideas that make our software more useful for you. This focus on feedback can be seen in the many small (and sometimes large) improvements and additional features that we’ve incorporated into many of our software offerings just these past few months!
Many of the exciting changes are ‘invisible’ to the user, but very important. For instance, data handling that underlies your input and modifications has been improved in terms of speed, security, and storage efficiency. Simplicity and ease of installation has been greatly streamlined to take advantage of Windows XP’s security features to provide a safe and dependable installation of all of RAD Software’s programs.
On the user ‘surface’, many other improvements are evident. Graphical displays have been optimized for faster, friendlier, and more intuitive interaction with the user. Grid sorting options have been added to certain RAD Software programs to provide additional information functionality. Printing routines have been tweaked on the law enforcement software to provide ‘presentation quality’ printouts ready for inclusion in reports, etc.
None of the major or minor version numbers have been increased as a result of these many improvements, so updates are free to previously registered users! Just download and install the latest version of your software-- your current License Key# will automatically apply itself to the latest install at no cost to you!
We hope that our customers enjoy the many improvements we continue to make as much as we enjoy developing these upgrades for you. We appreciate your support and your great ideas for making RAD Software programs better than ever!
Before now, a MyCash account that contained a few thousand transactions or more took forever (actually, a few seconds, but it seemed like forever) to load when you accessed that account. The progress bar just seemed to crawl along!
Thanks to code optimization recently developed by RAD Software, MyCash now loads at least 10-20 times faster! The progress bar is now a speed zone violator!
Also, some users whose NumLock status is normally on noticed that MyCash sometimes turned their NumLock off when entering a new transaction. This is a known Microsoft issue with its ‘SendKeys’ code implementation, and has been very frustrating.
But no more! RAD Software has finally come up with a clever method of invoking a key-press in code that avoids the use the Microsoft’s ‘SendKeys’ function. Now, if your NumLock is normally on when you make a new entry in MyCash, it stays that way!
In other news, many users have complimented RAD Software’s new display method in MyCash of using a slightly different shade of color in alternating rows in the list of transactions. It makes the list look just like a checkbook register, and makes it easier to read information on a given row.
RAD Software has taken that display method and implemented it on many other programs that use a row-by-row list of data, such as InTouch, MyBooks, MyPeople, and others!
Response so far has been all positive, so it looks like RAD Software has once again scored high in giving our customers what they want! Our ability to serve you well is only possible because RAD Software’s customers are our best partners in progress!

It’s official!!!
RAD Software is now finished converting all of its software to versions that can be instantly registered as fully licensed software by you on the spot with a License Key# emailed to you by RAD Software when you order!
And in the process, many RAD Software programs have received significant facelifts and improvements that you will want to check out!
For example, InTouch, your ultimate address book software, now has greatly expanded information fields, and has the ability to include a photo of your friends and family that can be viewed on their information cards! You can also print mailing labels, sub-list entries by ‘affiliation’ (a great way to instantly compile a Christmas Card list, for instance), and enjoy many other new and improved features!
MyPeople, which was once featured in a ‘Best of Business Shareware’PC World Magazine article several years ago, is an employee personnel records software program that provides small businesses with a powerful and effective way of maintaining important information about their employees.
RAD Software has just released a significant update to MyPeople, and now it’s more powerful and effective than ever! With completely redesigned forms and an even friendlier program flow, MyPeople now takes only a minute to master! Like InTouch, MyPeople also has greatly expanded information fields, the ability to send email from within the program itself, the ability to include a photo of your employee in his/her information card, and the ability to filter and sub-list employees in meaningful and useful ways (such as seniority lists, birthday lists, and much more!). All in all, this is the biggest upgrade MyPeople has ever gotten, and if you have a small business, you will love the results!
Finally, please note that RAD Software will be releasing it’s Summer 2005 Newsletter soon to registered newsletter recipients. If you would like to receive this newsletter, don’t forget to register by clicking the ‘Contact RAD Software’ menu choice at the top left of this page!

What a great way to celebrate this holiday! As noted in the June 12 news below, a significant upgrade of InTouch was experimentally released as a version that can be converted to a fully licensed version on the spot, using a License Key# provided by RAD Software.
The response was so immediately and overwhelmingly positive that RAD Software has been scrambling these past few weeks to convert all of its software to this new licensing method!
Now, when you order any RAD Software program, RAD Software will send you an email that provides your unique License Key# that you will need to convert your evaluation version to a fully licensed version in just seconds! No more waiting for days for an installation CD to arrive in the mail!
This year has been a period of big changes and improvements for RAD Software, and-- more importantly-- big improvements in the way we respond to and take care of our customers. More than ever before, we here at RAD Software look forward to helping you with your computer software needs!
June 12, 2005
RAD Software’s InTouch, the ultimate software rolodex, has undergone a complete redesign with many additional features and enhanced options! Previous users of InTouch will want to know that they can update their existing data with a single mouse click if they decide to upgrade. And-- upgrades for previously licensed InTouch users is only $5!!! So, if you want the best address book software available anywhere, and for an incredibly low price, get the latest version of InTouch!
New features include a much cleaner and intuitive interface, separate tabs for personal and business-related information, the ability to include pictures with your entries, greatly expanded information fields, and much, much more.
Most significantly, however, is that InTouch is the first software ever offered by RAD Software that can be registered on the spot for unlimited, fully licensed use with a License Key#. Once you’ve ordered InTouch and payment is verified, RAD Software will email the exclusive License Key# to you that matches a User Name that you designate. Once you’ve entered that registration information, InTouch instantly converts to an unlimited licensed version for your exclusive use! Note that this registration method is unique because it requires both a specific User Name, which the customer provides, and a corresponding License Key#, which RAD Software provides.
If this registration model proves popular and effective, RAD Software will begin converting other software to use this unique registration methodology. The next software slated for conversion, if this pans out, is MyBooks for book lovers.
More great news: RAD Software has tentatively entered into an agreement with MicroMation (www.micromation.co.za), which sells Radio Dispatch Communication Centers to agencies throughout the Republic of South Africa, to be the exclusive reseller and distributor of a specialized version of e911Pro to be used with MicroMation hardware. After extensive research, MicroMation owner Derrick Willcock states that e911Pro is the most professional and cost-effective solution available anywhere in the world for police radio dispatching needs for smaller agencies. RAD Software, of course, is both pleased and very proud to be chosen by MicroMation as the exclusive international provider of high-quality mission-critical software.

RAD Software has been busy these past weeks-- all of the software programs are constantly reviewed, tweaked-- and often-- features have been added and enhanced.
Most RAD Software programs have a ‘Search’ function, and this function has been overhauled to perform a magnitude faster now (although it was already blindingly fast!). Also, a ‘Whole Word Only’ search option has been added, giving the user more searching flexibility than ever!
Evidence has gotten a lot of improvements, including an improved visual design and interface. Also, there is now a new method of creating and maintaining a unique control number for each entry. This is an integrity issue designed to better satisfy the most stringent auditing and/or court-mandated chain-of-command accountability.
This is also a good time to remind users of e911Help that availability and support for this software will be discontinued on July 1, 2005. After this date, only e911Pro, which was initially introduced at the end of August 2004, will be available and supported.
Also, availability and support for CopGun will be discontinued on July 1, 2005. After this date, only CopGun Plus! which was initially introduced in June 2004, will be available and supported.

RAD Software’s MyCash has gotten yet another visual redesign!
This past October (see news item below) MyCash’s forms were overhauled for a cleaner, leaner visual interface. Now, the account window has undergone further design improvements for an interface that’s more appealing than ever! The account form now looks just like your paper-based transaction register. Also, the form has been widened to include separate debit and credit columns!
We’re sure that you’ll find MyCash more friendly, practical, and useful than ever!
January 1, 2005
What a great way to start off 2005!
Beginning today, RAD Software now uses PayPal, the world’s premiere online financial transaction service, to process any and all of your RAD Software online credit card orders!
And check this out: You don’t have to be registered with PayPal to order our software with a credit card! Anybody, registered or not, can use PayPal to order any RAD Software program online! How’s that for convenience?
Now when you order any RAD Software program online with a credit card, you can be assured that your transaction and privacy concerns are being handled by the world’s leader in secure online transactions.
This is yet one more way that RAD Software works hard to provide our customers with both software and service of the highest possible quality!

As the year comes to a close, we want to thank all of you for the great support that RAD Software has enjoyed throughout 2004!
We were able to accomplish many firsts this year, including an all-new internet domain and web site, new programs, many new customers, and most importantly of all, a lot of positive feedback that helps RAD Software better serve your computing needs!
RAD Software has just released a major upgrade to its Evidence program! Many users have asked for a greatly expanded narrative section, and now they’ve got it! Also, the method for allocating and maintaining auditable control numbers has been significantly enhanced. Finally, automatic data file updating procedures were incorporated into the software so that previously licensed users can seamlessly update their existing data files to use with the upgraded software!
Check out the latest version and see why Evidence has been so popular among public safety agencies all over the world!

One of RAD Software‘s most popular programs-- MyCash-- has received a major visual design overhaul and is available now for download and review!
You will immediately notice a cleaner, leaner interface the moment you open the account index. As you explore the various forms, you will find that the remainder of the program’s windows share the more ascetic appearance. Described as being ‘not as busy’ as the prior interfaces, the new look reflects a more contemporary look generally found in software releases today.
Of course, the powerful, yet easy-to-use functionality of MyCash is better than ever-- since it’s initial release over 15 years ago, MyCash still remains the most effective personal checking account software you will find anywhere at any price. I invite you to download MyCash now and enjoy the new ‘look-and-feel’ of the best financial account program available on the market.

RAD Software has just released e911Pro for public availability!!!
Over six months in development, e911Pro (the ‘Pro’ version of e911Help - Police Call-Taking & Radio Dispatching) is now available for public review and purchase! This much anticipated release is the most sophisticated, powerful, and complex software ever offered by RAD Software, yet it’s incredibly easy to learn and use!
Very successful beta-testing allowed a quicker-than-expected release version to be finalized and posted for public download and review. Take advantage of the best police dispatching software on the PC market-- download e911Pro and see for yourself what the wait has been all about!
August 22, 2004
RAD Software’s phenomenally successful e911Help has been used as a springboard for a ‘Pro’ version that has been under development all year. To be called e911Pro, this major release is a huge leap forward in Police Call-Taking & Radio-Dispatching software. Today, e911Pro enters its beta-testing phase for approximately two weeks, after which we anticipate releasing a finalized version for public availability!
No software company anywhere has anything that comes close to the balance of features/price offered by e911Help and the upcoming e911Pro. RAD Software is extremely proud to be able to offer the law enforcement community such powerful software at such incredibly low prices.
Previously licensed users of e911Help will be able to upgrade to e911Pro at a substantially discounted ‘upgrade’ price. Be looking for the release announcement soon!

In the biggest marketing shift in the history of the company, RAD Software has fundamentally changed its distribution methodology, starting today!
Up until now, RAD Software products have always been distributed via the internet using the ‘Shareware’ model. Using this approach, a software company typically releases a free, but time-limited, ‘evaluation version’ that simply stops working after a certain period of time. The hopes are that a customer values the software enough to purchase a fully featured ‘registered version’ that lasts the life of the software.
Starting today, however, RAD Software will offer free versions of most of its software programs that never expire! Instead, the software will eventually become feature-limited in some manner after an extended period of time, encouraging the user to purchase a licensed version for full-feature availability, yet still allowing them access to the data they’ve already entered.
The critical difference in this approach is that the customer never loses access to any data already entered. Instead of suddenly being totally shut out by a program that simply refuses to run anymore, the user can still access and enjoy the value of that data indefinitely, albeit with limited functionality.
The entertainment software (OnTarget, Scramble, and WordHide) were not included in this distribution methodology; nor were the two personnel management software packages which are due for major upgrading. All of the remaining software, however, are now expiration-free versions that reflect a more commercial approach to internet-based software marketing, yet still deliver high-quality software products at remarkably low prices.
August 12, 2004
RAD Software recently finished developing a programmable User Control that provides a vastly improved version of Visual Basic’s Command Button Control. Called (predictably) the RadButton User Control, it has been integrated into nearly every software program offered by RAD Software, improving and enhancing both the look-and-feel and the practical usability of all RAD Software program’s user interfaces.
Much more than simply a cosmetic enhancement, the RadButton User Control has variable and reactive display features and options that allow a button to ‘communicate’ its status and options to the user more effectively and more intuitively. Now, RAD Software programs are more user-friendly than ever before.
Additionally, during the process of integrating the RadButton User Control, many of the software programs received considerable function and display improvements (for example, see the August 8, 2004 news item immediately below regarding Citation).
August 8, 2004
RAD Software just released an upgrade of Citation that significantly expands and enhances the program’s Search function. Users can now selectively narrow or broaden the searching criteria to include and/or exclude differing categories, such as ‘Vehicle Info’, ‘Defendant Info’, ‘Type Violation Info’, and so on. All search results can be printed, producing professionally formatted reports ready for publication.
This search enhancement greatly expands the administrator’s ability to comprehensively summarize and analyze data related to traffic citation enforcement, thus significantly enhancing the management function of your agency!
July 21, 2004
RAD Software just released an upgrade of e911Help that significantly expands and enhances the AutoPrint function! AutoPrint now offers three options: One-Line Call Summary, Multi-Line Call Summary, and Whole-Page Call Summary, thus giving user agencies more printing choices and flexibility than ever before! Further, the Whole Page Call Summary option, which previously dumped a bitmapped picture of the Call Card to the printer, now produces a detailed professionally formatted report ready for distribution and publication.
June 22, 2004
RAD Software has released CopGun Plus!, a significantly enhanced version of CopGun that contains many additional features and options. Originally developed in consultation with the PPSC (see April 29, 2004 post below), CopGun Plus! will also be available to the public, and for only $59!

The new version will be offered as a separate software package called CopGun Plus!, and is currently under development. The PPSC intends to incorporate the software into its institutional training programs and seminars, as well as recommend it to training participants and other interested parties.

RAD Software goes live today, publishing its revamped web site under the www.radsoftware.org domain! Totally revised using NetObjects Fusion v7.5, RAD Software’s web site now more appropriately reflects the high quality and exacting standards found in all RAD Software program applications that are available on this site.
So, welcome to our newly upgraded web site. Feel free to look around... we’re confident that there’s something here waiting to be discovered by you-- something that will make your life easier, more organized, or more fun!
March 22, 2004
RAD Software obtained its own domain name (www.radsoftware.org) and a hosting service to park and publish the new and completely revamped web site to follow. Prior to this, RAD Software had been using a combination of AOL’s hometown pages (using the AOL Screen Name RadSware) and an email/URL forwarding service through Bigfoot (www.bigfoot.com).
The new hosting service is 1and1 (www.1and1.com). Recently advertised in major computer magazines, 1and1 claims millions of satisfied customers. After considerable research, we would highly recommend 1and1 as a very good hosting service at a very good price that appears to be operated very professionally.
